Alice Valentine Bunn was born on February 14, 1896 to John and Lula (Allen) Bunn in Johnstown, Brown County, Nebraska. She was the sixth child of John and the first child of Lula.
She married Walter Coleman in 1917. They had four children: Clinton, Marian, Earl, and Lawrence. Clinton died as a toddler. Alice and Walter divorced shortly after Lawrence’s birth.
Alice married Albert Hamar in 1924. He raised her children as his own and they had five children together: Leo, Raymond, Arlie, Orvella, and Kenneth.
The Hamars lived in Johnstown, Nebraska; Rapid City, South Dakota; Hamilton, Montana; Chelan and Longview, Washington.
Alice died as she walked home from the corner grocer on December 27, 1976, in Longview, Washington.
