Lula Loretta Allen (1875-1907)

Lula Loretta Allen was born on February 7, 1875, in Neligh, Antelope County, Nebraska. She was the sixth of twelve children born to Thomas Salvester and Mary (Rogers) Allen.

Lula married John H. Bunn on October 29, 1894, in Springview, Keya Paha County, Nebraska. She was his second wife. John and Lula had eight children: Alice, Joseph, Verona, Rosa, Eunice, Agnes, Douglas and Baby Bunn.

Late in her pregnancy with their last child, she fell from a wagon bed where she was standing to pick apples. As a result of the fall, she delivered the baby prematurely and it did not survive. She developed pneumonia while recovering from the fall and died November 15, 1907, in Wood Lake, Cherry County, Nebraska.

She is buried in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska. I have not yet discovered why she was buried over 270 miles from her home and no marker was placed on her grave.
