Ole Hanson called the “Old Walrus” by his family Ancestry: askolrud

Ole Hansen was born in Norway in about 1788 and he died there in 1895. He had at least one son, Mikkel. I discovered is name in Mikkel’s marriage record as posted from the Norwegian marriage records on Ancestry.com.

I found this commentary (below) posted with this photo on Ancestry.com by ASkolrud1. I have tried to make contact but have been unsuccessful. All I know is that this person is a descendant of Ole’s great-grandson, Severin.

“This photo is the only photo of Mikkel Skolrud’s father. His name is unknown other than his last name was Olson (see post about Scandinavian Naming). He was always referred to as the Old Walrus by his son Mikkel and his children and their children’s children. I was told that he lived to be a ripe old age of 106 years young before he passed on and never left the old country.”
